Regional pricing will differ; the figures above are the US store. The discount was live when we checked on 24 August 2026, but launch discounts are time-limited by Steam’s rules, so check the store page for the current state.

Will the price go up?

This is the question behind most price searches for an early access game, and the honest answer has two parts.

What NerveLabs has said: nothing. Across nine announcements from release through Update 7, there is no statement about a price change at 1.0. Steam’s early access FAQ on a store page is where developers usually answer this; we are not going to paraphrase an answer that is not in the announcements we can cite.

What is generally true: raising the price when a game leaves early access is a common practice, and Valve permits it. If you are on the fence, buying during early access is the cheaper side of that bet — but you are buying an unfinished game to get it.

Is it worth $19.99 right now?

The relevant facts rather than our opinion:

  • Steam reviews: Very Positive, 786 positive out of 899 total (87%) as of 24 August 2026
  • Content claimed by the store page: 50+ quests, 60+ unique enemies, over 100 equippable items, spell crafting and alchemy systems, full co-op
  • Update cadence: seven builds in the first five days, including a new playable race
  • Press attention: Rock Paper Shotgun covered it during launch week

Set against that, it is early access with an acknowledged rough edge — a reviewer summarising the build described “a lot of potential and a lot of bugs,” and the developers themselves shipped over 40 bug fixes in a single hotfix on day two.

Our review page goes into the reception in more detail.

What you are not paying extra for

Worth noting since it is unusual: there are no DLC entries on the store page, and no in-game purchases are listed among the store categories. The $19.99 is the whole game, and the full campaign is playable in co-op with no separate multiplayer purchase.

Family Sharing is listed as supported, and Remote Play Together means a friend can join your session without owning a copy.
