Laughless Saint Steam Deck Compatibility
The current rating: none
Checked on 24 August 2026, Valve’s Deck compatibility report for app 3849000 returns no resolved category — the game has not been tested and rated.
That is worth stating precisely, because “unrated” is often misread as “does not work”:
| Rating | Meaning | This game |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Valve tested it, works well on Deck | No |
| Playable | Works with some caveats | No |
| Unsupported | Valve tested it, does not work | No |
| Unknown | Not yet tested | Yes |
So nobody has told you it does not work. Nobody has told you it does, either.
What we can reason about from the specs
The game does not ship a Linux build — Steam lists Linux support as false — so on a Deck it would run through Proton.
The minimum requirements are the useful data point:
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 or higher, 64-bit |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better, quad-core or better |
| RAM | 8 GB |
| GPU | Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 equivalent |
| DirectX | Version 12 |
| Storage | 8 GB |
A GTX 970 floor is meaningful. That is above what a Deck’s APU comfortably matches at native resolution, which means anyone hoping for a smooth Deck experience should expect to be turning settings down rather than up. See system requirements for the full list.
We are not going to publish a frame rate estimate. We have not run the game on a Deck, and inventing benchmark figures would be exactly the kind of thing this site exists not to do.
Settings that would matter most on a Deck
If you do try it, the developers have shipped options during early access that map well onto handheld constraints:
- Turn off shadows — Update 7 added this explicitly “for significantly improved performance”
- Saturation slider — Update 7, useful on a different panel
- UI symbols for smaller screens — Update 7 replaced certain UI aspects with symbols for smaller screens, which is directly relevant to a 7-inch display
- Skip intro — Update 7, small but welcome on repeat launches
There is also a known VRAM issue that is worth flagging for any memory-constrained device: Update 6 included an “attempt at fix for texture streaming issues for GPUs with 4 or 6 GB of VRAM,” and Hotfix 5 fixed a VRAM leak that caused degraded textures. Both suggest memory pressure has been a real problem on lower-end hardware.
Controller support is only partial
Steam lists Partial Controller Support, which on a Deck means some interactions expect keyboard or mouse. The Deck’s trackpads and virtual keyboard cover that, but it will not be a seamless pad-only experience. Controller rolling and quantity selection were both improved in Update 6, so this is an area under active work.
